Is fashionable to give gifts at Valentine’s day?

Valentine’s Day arrives and with it everybody start a debate that is repeated year after year. Is Valentine's Day a marketing strategy? Love could be demonstrated by giving gifts?

In broch&broch we have documented and, although we have a very personal vision of love, we discovered that Valentine is, in fact, the patron saint of lovers.

The origin of this celebration goes back to the Roman Empire. Emperor Claudius II decided to ban marriage for young people because a single boy was the perfect candidate to practice as a soldier.

Valentine was a priest in Rome and did not agree with this law, so he helped the young lovers celebrating marriages in secret.

The emperor finally becoming aware of treason and ordered jailed Valentine, who carried out the February 14 of the year 270.

According to this story, It is true that Valentine died for defending love and, therefore, the anniversary of his death is considered the day of lovers. However, not everyone believes that the best way to celebrate this day is buying gifts.

Love is demonstrated every day. This is the typical repeat to justify all we do not care that your partner is sure to make us a gift on Valentine's Day.
